This multi-award winning XO sipping rum reveals exotic sugarcane and a big hit of toasted coconut and banana, enhanced by more complex aromas of cocoa, candied orange and cigar box <br/> A luxury spirit in the true sense of the word, 'XO is a term used in Cognac to denote Extra Old spirit. Although this term has no legal meaning for rum, in this case it tells us that it is a much older blend than the others produced by Plantation. This rum is double aged, meaning it is first aged in ex-bourbon casks in Barbados for between 10-12 years, and then aged a second time in 320 litre ex-Grande Champagne Cognac casks in France for 1 year to 18 months.
