Ром Бакарді є однією з найзнаменитіших марок рому. Сім'я Бакарді домінувала у виробництві рому на Кубі майже сто років. Історія рому Бакарді почалася, коли іспанський винторговець Факундо Бакарді переїхав у Сантьяго-де-Куба, де й захопився виробництвом рому. Знаючи толк у хорошому вині, Факундо виробив витончений ром. Він зробив правильну ставку, сконцентрувавшись на виробництві очищеного так званого легкого рому, який виробляв у колонах безперервного циклу. Перша компанія з виробництва рому Bacardi була створена в 1862 році - разом із цим на ринок прийшла мода пити ром.
