IDEAL INGREDIENTS. Cooking ingredient. Home Baking. Breakfast topper. Snacking. The Story. In 1859 Charles Darwin was the first to recognise the benefits of evolution in nature - naturally occurring developments in animals and plants that offer a subtle advantage over their counterparts. Based in Shrewsbury, the birthplace of Darwin, Evolution Foods have searched the planet to bring you Natural Selection, a range of old favourites all offering unique characteristics that we think you'll find highly appealing. Why not give them a try? We're confident that you'll find Natural Selection to be a taste of something special! Crystallised Ginger. Native to southern Asia, Ginger itself is as old as the recorded history of mankind. Crystallised ginger is ginger root that has been dried and preserved with sugar: it is moist and chewy and has a delicious hot, aromatic flavour. Natural Selection Crystallised Ginger makes an ideal baking ingredient, or can be eaten straight from the pack as a sweet, spicy snack. Often used to make gingerbread men, you can also substitute chopped crystallised ginger into any cookie recipe that calls for raisins. To add a sweet-tangy twist, try adding one rough-chopped tablespoonful to your favourite stir-fry, or a sweet and sour sauce.
