A legendary wine from the cape which was once more sought after than D'Yquem, Tokaji and Maderia by the Kings of Europe, Politicians and famous poets. The wine was totally wiped out in the early 19 century due to the Phylloxera out-break which destroyed many of the grapes vines.<br/> It was in 1980, that the vineyard was re-developed and in 1986 the first bottling of Vin de Constance was released onto the market using the very same root stock used some 300 years earlier.<br/> A rich, dark golden honey colour with intense perfumed nose of complex spice, cloves and vanilla. Developed secondary flavours of orange marmalade and dark chocolate. An intriguing and ever-evolving wine. The bold, sweet palate is perfectly balanced by tight acidity which results in a long-lingering honeyed finish.<br/>
