On July 4, 1947 her dream came true with the opening of the company's first modern bakery in Norwalk, Connecticut. America gets its first taste of Goldfish crackers in 1962. Margaret Rudkin discovers the snack cracker on a trip to Switzerland and returns with the recipe. Goldfish crackers advertising makes its television debut in 1977. Goldfish snack crackers blast into space on board the Space Shuttle Discovery in 1988. From our beginning in Margaret Rudkin's kitchen in 1937 to today, Pepperidge Farm has changed a great deal, but one thing has never changed, our commitment to quality. It's a tradition that began with our entrepreneurial founder, and proudly continues to this day. Since 1962, Goldfish have been one of America's favorite snack crackers.
