Our Pure Pastured Lard is open kettle rendered from 100% fatback. Fatback is the second highest grade of fat available and produces gourmet quality lard with a mild flavor and fine texture. Its high smoke point of 370º (F) and delicious flavor make it the best choice for frying, pan sautéing, roasting and for use in soups, stews, on vegetables as well as in baked goods. Fats naturally enhance the flavors of dishes they are added to! Pure Lard is shelf stable, refrigeration is not required but recommended to maintain optimal freshness and extend product life.
