6 x 1 Litre shallow 'mini' rapid feeders (Ideal for effective feeding of all sizes of bee hive) Due to the shallow nature of this feeder (50mm or 2 inches high) it can fit under the rooves of many bee hives without the need of an Eak or Spacer. It is ideal for giving Spring or Summer top ups to Nucleus or established colonies. Ideal for the cold or rainy weeks, or when a honey flow is not available' This is one of the most popular methods of effectively feeding your bees, its advantages include: * Takes up to 1 litre (2 pints) of feed at a time * Transparent cup allows you to see if bees are feeding * The feeder can quickly and easily be refilled without disturbing your colony * Little or no fatalities through drowning due to correct aperture and ridges in the cone for grip * Fits under many rooves on existing crown board breather/feeder holes 'Personally, I find this feeder useful to stimulate the colony and encourage egg laying in early spring so as to give them the earliest possible start to the season, and strengthening a weak or small colony. For this feed, many beekeepers give them a weaker solution which bees find more agreeable at this time of the season. I am amongst many who use a solution of around 2 pints of water to 1 bag (1Kg) of granulated sugar (ideally cane sugar). This solution normally increases in strength later in the season, and becomes more like 1 pint to 1kg for the winter feed in the Autumn' (There are also many other recipes potions and feeds used !) Measures 205mm (8 inches) wide and 50mm (2 inches) deep The feeder hole is 44mm (1.5 inches) wide
