With its characteristic shape Panettone is a speciality of Milan with an ancient and noble tradition. legend would have that at the end of the 14th century a pastry maker from the court of the Prince Visconti of Milan wanted to bake a cake for his sweetheart. during the preparation of the cake something went wrong and the dough rose out of proportion. The Panettone was born, a delicious recipe reproduced since 1774 by Chiostro di Saronno.
