Originating from the village of Amatrice near Rieti this sauce was quickly adopted into Roman cooking. Barilla Amatriciana sauce is one of the most famous and well-loved in Italian cooking. It is made up of simple ingredients: tomato pulp, cubes of bacon and a dash of chilly pepper: the result is a sauce with a unique rustic character. Ingredients: Tomato Pulp (46.6%), Bacon, Pork (25.6%), Onions (14.8%), Tomato Paste, Salt, Starch, Sunflower Oil, Sugar, Parsley (0.2%), Smoked Flavor, Black Pepper, Pepper (0.02%). Directions: Preparation: Heat the sauce on medium temperature or in the microwave (after having removed the lid). Add to pasta, then sauté in a small pan. Add few drops of extra virgin olive oil before serving.
