Rioja - Red Spanish Wine Tasting Notes Sweet vanilla notes of American oak, plenty of right cherry fruit, and a fine delicate palate. Bodegas Faustino is an entirely family company founded in 1861. It's the most important Rioja vineyards' owner, with 650 hectares, and leader of Gran Reserva marketing. Faustino I Gran Reserva is aged in quality French and American oak barrels for over 26 months, ensuring each bottle you drink is a good as the last. The wine then waist in peaceful repose for at least 3 years in bottle until it reaches perfection. Owning 650 hectares of carefully tended vineyards, Faustino is virtually self-sufficient in producing some of its best wines. Located in the upper part of Rioja Alavesa, the vineyards enjoys the best geographical and climatic conditions needed to produce the highest quality wines. This ideal location, together with a rigorous policy of restricting the amount of grapes that are taken from each vine, result in grapes of exceptional flavour and finesse.
