Asparagus from Navarra is known world-wide for their tenderness and special taste. Our asparagus from Rosara carries the I.G.P. certification of "Esparrago de Navarra" to confirm both its quality and source (Nowadays it is estimated that around 95% of asparagus sold in Spain is sourced from either Peru or China!!). This is a very popular dish in Spain either used as part of a salad or simply eaten with mayonnaise and embutidos "Cold meats". The asparagus is graded by its thickness with the thickest spears commanding the highest price. Rosara have a very close relationship with the farmers and they personally bring their crop to the factory s close. They are processed the same day to prevent them from increasing their fibre, which makes them tough. They are peeled and hand graded (thickness of the asparagus) and then put in tins or jars.
