- 1 pinch [Salt](https://fridge.menu/en/i/salt)
- 175 g [Plain flour](https://fridge.menu/en/i/flour)
- 75 g [Butter](https://fridge.menu/en/i/butter)
- 50 g [Sugar](https://fridge.menu/en/i/sugar)
- 40 g [Brown sugar](https://fridge.menu/en/i/brown-sugar) — or muscovado
- 0.5 tsp [Cinnamon](https://fridge.menu/en/i/cinnamon)
- 100 ml [Icing sugar](https://fridge.menu/en/i/powdered-sugar)
- 2 tbsp [Water](https://fridge.menu/en/i/water) — or as much as needed for the perfect icing consistency

## Steps

1. Warm the milk and butter in a pan, stirring, until the butter has melted.
2. Remove from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes to about 38°C.
3. Crumble in the yeast, then add the egg.
4. In a clean bowl, mix the wholemeal flour well with the vanilla, sugar, cinnamon and cardamom.
5. Pour the mixture into the pan and gradually add the plain flour.
6. Knead the dough well until it is smooth and soft.
7. Let the dough rise under a clean tea towel for 30-40 minutes.
8. Mix the filling well.
9. Roll the dough into a small rectangle and spread generously with the filling.
10. Roll the dough into a log and cut into buns about 3 cm thick.
11. Place all the buns in a round tin lined with baking paper and let rise for 45 minutes.
12. Bake in a preheated fan oven at 175°C for 17-20 minutes.
13. Take the buns out of the oven and let them cool on a rack, meanwhile mix the icing.
14. Let the buns cool a little before covering them with the icing.
15. This recipe makes about 6 servings.

## What was changed

Graham flour is hard to find in British shops, so the dough uses Wholemeal flour instead.
