## Ingredients

- 120 g [Butter](https://fridge.menu/en/i/butter)
- 1 tsp [Vanilla extract](https://fridge.menu/en/i/vanilla-extract)
- 150 g [Caster sugar](https://fridge.menu/en/i/sugar)
- 3 pcs [Eggs](https://fridge.menu/en/i/eggs)
- 150 g [Plain flour](https://fridge.menu/en/i/flour)
- 100 g [Potato starch](https://fridge.menu/en/i/potato-starch)
- 160 ml [Double cream](https://fridge.menu/en/i/cream)
- 20 g [Cocoa powder](https://fridge.menu/en/i/cocoa-powder) — sifted
- 16 g [Baking powder](https://fridge.menu/en/i/baking-powder)

## Steps

1. In a large bowl, mix the softened butter, caster sugar and vanilla extract, and beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
2. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
3. Sift the flour together with the potato starch and baking powder, then gently fold into the batter.
4. Add 110 ml of double cream and mix until smooth.
5. Divide the batter into two equal parts, and stir the cocoa powder and the remaining cream into one part.
6. Grease a 22 cm tin with butter and dust with flour.
7. Spoon the light and dark batters alternately into the centre of the tin, tilting the tin gently so the batter spreads evenly.
8. Bake the cake at 180°C in a preheated oven for about 35 minutes. (35 min)
9. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely before slicing.
