OWNERS OF THE FINEST VINEYARDS IN PORTUGAL. ESTABLISHED IN 1798. BOTTLED IN 1998. DOW'S was one of the first Port houses to purchase top quality vineyards in the Upper Douro, acquiring Quinta do Bomfim in 1890. Situated in the heart of the finest area of this unique valley, the property faces due south, offering optimum exposure to the sun, resulting in wines that are rich, dark and well-structured. In the rare years when a Vintage is 'Declared', the Bomfim wines are used to make Dow's renowned Vintage Ports. In other good years, excellent wine s are made and bottle as Quinto do Bomfim Vintage Port. This wines are outstanding and will normally be ready for drinking when about ten years old, although they will continue to mature in bottle for many years more. Dow's is entirely owned and run by the 4th generation of the Symington family. Port producers since 1882. No other Port marque has had this unbroken family continuity. Silver Medal Awards in 2007 IWC and IWSC Competitions.
