This beetroot powder is ground from fresh beetroot, gives a reddish/purplish colour to food. Can be used in baking and/or curries for that extra reddish colour which is natural and nothing is added to it other than the ingredient Beetroot. Beetroot Powder (Beta vulgaris) is great in soups, salad dressings and baking. A natural red/purple food colouring, suitable for vegans which is also highly nutritious Beetroot powder can create many hues of red, from pink to magenta depending on how much you use. It has a mild, slightly sweet flavour, not strong enough to seriously affect the final taste of the food. It is used in authentic Indian dishes such as Tikka and Tandoori in place of artificial Indian red food dye. Beetroot powder can be added to smoothies both for colour and for nutritional enrichment.
