<p>Our hazelnuts have a mild nutty flavour; they are a good source of fibre, vitamins including B6 & E and minerals including copper, iron, manganese and zinc.</p><p>Hazelnuts are known as filberts or cobnuts in some other countries, the first part of the name hazel comes from the Anglo-Saxon word haesel which means a headdress or bonnet, and refers to the shape of outer shell covering. Traditionally in European folklore the hazelnut is ready to harvest on St. Philbert's Day which occurs on August 20th each year, the nuts are said to be named in honour of Philibert de JumiŠÝges the abbot and monastic founder of JumiŠÝges Abbey, France in the 7th century.</p><p>Typical values per 100g; Energy 2780 kJ/675 kcal, Protein 16.6g, Carbohydrate 5.6g, Fat 63.5g.</p><p>Allergy advice: This product should be avoided by those people with nut allergies.</p>
