This limited edition sake is considered the drink of the Seven Lucky Gods. It is usually drunk during New Year celebrations in Japan and the design is based around the motif of the Seven Lucky Gods of Japanese folklore. The bottle contains real flakes of pure edible gold, which represent prosperity and hope for good wealth in the new year. This is a honjozo sake and is light and dry with a slight a sharp freshness. It is delicious served cold and is particularly good when paired with savoury and spicy dishes. This would make a fantastic gift or celebratory drink; try substituting for champagne and bring a little Japanese luck to your next occasion.
