Organic dried Marjoram (Origanum majorana) from Cantinho das Aromáticas has a warm camphor flavour, slightly bitter. We recommend its use in sauces, salads, pizzas and grilled dishes and enjoy combining it with other herbs particularly basil, Portuguese thyme and chili peppers. Cantinho das Aromáticas is a unique urban organic farming project in the heart of Vila Nova de Gaia, a small city nestled between the mouth of the Douro River and the Atlantic Ocean in northwestern Portugal. The farm enjoys a mild climate which together with our organic practices gives exceptional character to our herbs. Our production is entirely certified by Ecocert as Organically Produced and our plants show enormous evidence of quality, measurable in the total absence of pesticide residues and the greater quantity of sugars and essential oils. This outstanding quality prompted us to launch our own brand of herbal infusions and seasonings for the Portuguese market and today for export. In addition to our production of organic herbs, we are dedicated to agricultural research as well as the education of fellow agronomists, both amateur and professional, in the production of aromatic herbs.
