Our Yuzu powder is made from the whole citrus fruit, including the juice, inner fruit, and rind. Yuzu, commonly known as the Japanese grapefruit is now gaining popularity as a good source of antioxidants. A unique blend of lime, lemon and grapefruit, this small fruit is about the size of a golf ball. It is found in either yellow or orange colour and is characterized by rough and uneven skin. The health benefits of the yuzu come mainly from the vitamin C that can be found in it, which is a powerful antioxidant. Regular use of yuzu based products like soap and skin moisturizers can result to a smooth and silky, even fragrant skin, because of the essential elements that yuzu has. Trendy leaders in the culinary arts, nutraceuticals, artisan cosmetics, and nature-based medical spa owners recognize that Yuzu is one of the hottest botanical ingredients in the natural products marketplace. The Yuzu fruit looks like a very small grapefruit with an uneven skin, and can be either yellow or green depending on the degree of ripeness. Yuzu's flavour is tart, closely resembling that of the grapefruit, with overtones of mandarin orange. Yuzu is rarely eaten as a fruit, though in the Japanese cuisine its aromatic zest (outer rind) is used to garnish some dishes, and its juice is commonly used as a seasoning, traditionally, a hot yuzu bath is taken on the winter solstice day.
